Winter is one of the greatest times of the year, though can be perceived in vastly different ways depending on where you live. If you live in places like Florida, California or Costa Rica, it isn’t that difficult to go about your day naked.

On the other hand, if you’re living up north, in Canada or in the U.S. Midwest where it snows and can easily get below freezing, you need to figure out ways to keep your body nice and warm while still retaining your nudist lifestyle.
Before winter rolls around this year, here are a few ways that you can begin preparing for the cold that waits.
Grow Out Your Hair
Whether you are a man or a woman, winter is a great excuse to grow out your hair. If you’ve never done it before, you should know that it isn’t as simple as it seems. Start taking care of it so it grows in fast and healthy. Do weekly conditioning treatments to keep it lush. Do regular micro-trims so that you can cut off split ends. Try re-calibrating your diet so that you are eating healthier foods to expedite growth or take supplements like Biotin and B-Vitamins.
If you already have long hair, this is not the time for the French braid or the man bun. Let those beautiful locks down, and you will instantly be warmer! You truly need all the coverage you can get as a nudist for winter, and that hair can help immensely. You can even put on a hat if you really need it.

“Not all the Greek runners in the original Olympics were totally naked. Some wore shoes.”

Get Yourself a Solid Pair of Boots
You should absolutely be wearing shoes around wintertime if you are a nudist. Most people will think, “well if you’re a nudist, doesn’t that mean that you need to go without any clothes?” Definitely not! Nudism is all about feeling comfortable, and if you don’t feel comfortable walking around without shoes for whatever reason, you should get yourself a solid pair.
For both women and men, we recommend getting your feet a good pair of boots for the winter. If it snows a lot, make sure that you get some that are waterproof. We dare you to try and walk around in the freezing white snow without shoes on. It’s a frostbite nightmare waiting to happen.
Don’t Shave
This goes for both men and women and can kind of be bundled in with the growing out your hair aspect. For men, let that beard and mustache grow. It will act as facial protection against the wind and harsh weather. Also make sure not to shave your body, armpits, or whatever. You really want to have as much hair as you can for when winter rolls around. Live like a Grizzly bear, and you will have a better chance at surviving winter.
For women, stop shaving your legs and your armpits. Let go of those societal shaving norms and be the tough mama bear that you’ve always wanted to be! A little bit of extra hair can go quite a long way when the winters are unbearable.
Hang With Friends And Family

Not only will your friends and loved ones provide you with good times and memories over the holidays, when you’re huddled together, but they can also provide you with warmth. Ever had tons of bodies in a room and wondered why the temperature went up like 20 degrees? This is because our bodies let off heat. The more that you can stay around larger groups of people, the warmer you will be. This kind of brings us to our next point.
5. Plan More Inside Activities
For the most part, like anyone during the harsh winter months, you should be planning more of your activities inside. Think of things like playing games or having movie nights indoors. Light a fire, drink some apple cider, kick back and listen to music. Cuddle up on the couch with a blanket and read a good book. If you need to get a workout, try and think of a way that you can exercise at home rather than outdoors. There are many winter activities you can plan for staying in. It just takes a bit of creativity.
